A new form is available for suspected lung cancer referrals. This will go live on Thursday 4th August on the BPAC eReferral system. It can be found by searching on “lung” or “respiratory”.
All patients being referred with a high suspicion of lung cancer should be referred using the form. This will assist in the grading process and help ensure that people are seen as quickly as possible by the service.
Please remember it is also possible for GPs to request a chest CT where this has been recommended in the x-ray report. By doing so this also speeds up the assessment process for patients.
The eReferral being used was developed by GPs and specialists in Taranaki. If you have any feedback regarding the form please contact- baynav@bopdhb.govt.nz
