The Tauranga District Police are looking for a doctor to join the Police Medical Officer roster. There are currently three GPs on the roster – Grant Cavit, Simon Roberts and Joe Bourne.

The Tauranga District Police are looking for a doctor to join the Police Medical Officer roster. There are currently three GPs on the roster – Grant Cavit, Simon Roberts and Joe Bourne.

Police medical officers provide on-call cover for one week at a time. During weekday office hours the police use Accident and Healthcare for emergency cases. The majority of the work is basic general practice type care with occasional forensic work. Training and support is available.

Police medical officers are paid a retainer for being on-call plus an hourly call out fee.
