If you need some O₂ for one of your patients, make sure you include an O₂ saturation with your referral to the respiratory clinic.

If you need some O₂ for one of your patients, make sure you include an O₂ saturation with your referral to the respiratory clinic. This is essential for approval of oxygen. Also, if there has been spirometry please include this. Remember that current smokers cannot be referred - apart from the fact that smoking completely negates any positive physiological effects of being on home oxygen, there is a significant fire and burns risk.
