Mr. Naidu (TK) has recently relocated to the Bay of Plenty from South Africa. TK trained as an ENT Surgeon at the Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine in Durban, South Africa.
TK spent many years working at the Tertiary Hospitals in Durban, namely King Edward VIII Hospital and Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital responsible for a population of 10 million people. He was a senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine training both undergraduate medical students and postgraduate ENT trainees.
TK developed an interest in Head & Neck Cancers and trained with a multidisciplinary team in Durban. He is an active researcher and published in international journals. He started numerous collaborative projects namely: Yale University (USA) and Nelson Mandela School of Medicine (SA) and Imperial College London (UK). He supervises post graduate student research and is a reviewer for international peer review journals. TK is also an examiner for the Colleges of Otorhinolaryngologists.
TK undertook advanced Head & Neck training in the United Kingdom. He joined the Head & Neck team at Imperial College in London. During his training in London he spent time at St. Mary’s Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital. He enhanced his skills in advanced Head & Neck Cancer Surgery, Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery and Head & Neck Robotic Surgery.
TK has adjusted well to the Bay of Plenty and has embraced the CARE values of the institution. He hopes to enhance the Head & Neck service in the institution and add to the skill set in the ENT Department.
TK has relocated with his wife, Suraya a Clinical Haematologist and 2 sons, Niskar and Siahan who have adjusted well to the beautiful Bay of Plenty.
