Many of you will be aware that there is a national and local shortage of LMC’s. This may mean that you have some pregnant patients who are struggling to find antenatal care.

Many of you will be aware that there is a national and local shortage of LMC’s. This may mean that you have some pregnant patients who are struggling to find antenatal care.

The DHB has put out a response process for these patients (click here to view).

The contact midwife at the DHB is Esther Mackay- phone 557 5768 or email esther.mackay@bopdhb.govt.nz. She is happy to be contacted with the patients name and details and she will find a solution.

The DHB can provide antenatal care but this will be a team approach rather than one designated midwife. You can also send an e-Referral to the antenatal clinic via BPAC highlighting that it is for Esther’s attention.
