Simon Everitt has accepted the position of Interim Chief Executive.

Simon Everitt has accepted the position of Interim Chief Executive.

Simon has been General Manager Planning and Funding and Population Health for five years, and has regularly been Acting Chief Executive in recent years.He has extensive experience in the health sector both in New Zealand and the United States, initially as an Occupational Therapist and then in senior roles in operational management, and planning and funding of health services. Simon has previously worked across the Capital and Coast, Hutt and Wairarapa DHBs.

Simon has already made a significant contribution to our Bay of Plenty communities.

Simon will move into the role towards the end of October, ensuring that there is a good opportunity to work on handover with Helen Mason before she leaves the DHB on 15 November.

Once the new Board is in place in early 2020, they will turn their minds to the appointment of a permanent Chief Executive.
