There have been a lot of telephone calls and emails from patients to our Cardiology department regarding myocarditis and the Covid vaccine. Patients are also being advised by their GPs to check with Cardiology about vaccination because of the death reported in the media in Auckland earlier this week in relation to vaccination-related myocarditis.

Please bear in mind that Cardiology does not have the expertise and is not equipped to discuss covid vaccine-related myocarditis/pericarditis risk with patients. This falls into the domain of general practice.
