Update on Rheumatology Service at BOPDHB 20 Jun 2022
As you may be aware, the Rheumatology service at BOPDHB is about to improve significantly with the arrival of two permanent Rheumatologists in July-August.
In the interim we have cover from Waikato Rheumatology services for urgent telephone advice for GPs (ph 07 839 8899 - ask to speak to on-call Rheumatologist).
Over the next 4 weeks the BOP team will continue to monitor existing patients bloods and treatment plans - however we are unable to accept referrals via BPAC until the 18th of July. The BPAC site will provide Waikato number to direct any urgent requests.
Existing patients will continue to have an email and telephone contact with the Rheumatology CNS - who is in contact with Waikato team on a regular basis.
Waikato may request changes to medication - we will endeavour to manage these from within the DHB however you may be requested to provide repeat prescriptions to your patient. Full details of medication will be available either via clinic letter or from your patient's community pharmacy.
If you are unsure or unclear around any aspect of this, please email Rheumatology CNS rheumatologynurses@bopdhb.govt.nz
