NZ is implementing STEMI pathways for events in the community to ensure rapid, coordinated, agreed care regardless of the location of the event.

Auckland and other tertiary DHBs have implemented this and Gerry Devlin, chair of the Midland Cardiac Network, would like to form a Working Group to develop and implement the pathway for the Midland Region.

It would be great to include a Bay of Plenty perspective on this, ideally from both Eastern Bay as well as Western Bay. Rural or semi-rural would be great, but not essential. Topics to be explored include community thrombolysis, direct to lab criteria and process, ECG transmission from ambulance.

The meeting will be in Auckland at the Domestic Airport terminal meeting rooms with no video-conferencing or telephone conferencing unless it's imperative whereby Skype via iPad or telephone via an iPhone in the room could be used.
