The new regional hepatitis C community based service is now available. The purpose of the service is to provide:

• Clinically lead services delivered within the regionally agreed clinical pathway of care e.g. Map of Medicine and Bay Navigator
• Quality liver elastography scans (Fibroscan) delivered by skilled experienced staff
• Fibroscan and patient education in the community and closer to the patients home
• Geographical coverage across the five Midland DHBs
• Clinical oversight within the service
• Reduction in health disparity
