Patient Phone Calls to Schedulers

Have you recently asked your patient to give the hospital or the scheduler a call, to enquire about when their clinic appointment might be?

Have you recently asked your patient to give the hospital or the scheduler a call, to enquire about when their clinic appointment might be?

There have been several patient phone calls to schedulers at Tauranga Hospital, with enquiries as to when they might be seen. This is after the standard ‘estimated wait time’ letter has been sent out to GP and patient. The scheduler is unable to give specific dates as these are only set several weeks down the line. This can be upsetting and frustrating for the patient.

If you feel an appointment needs to be brought forward, please write a letter to the clinic via the usual referral route. Thank you!
