Your local ED at Whakatane Hospital has had to sort out a few GP issues recently. While being overrun with patients, they have been asked to advise on INRs as well as having to see rest home patients after 5pm that could have been sorted out during the day time by the GP.

It would be really helpful for both rest home staff and ED to have care plans documented in the notes by the GP.

Writing up a management plan, or charting certain meds such as analgesia or sedatives/anxiolytics might just save your patient a trip to ED!
