New in-Service Videos for Nurses on Te Whāriki ā Toi, the BOPDHB Online Learning Site

The October sessions are now available to view.   October’s theme was Venous Thromboembolism and the three topics covered were:

  • Venous Thromboembolism – the leading cause of preventable death in hospitals worldwide

  • Mechanical prophylaxis – physiology and practical application

  • Chemical prophylaxis - Enoxaparin

Plus “Matt’s Story – The Deteriorating Patient”.   Matt’s mother, Heather Gunter, talks about the missed opportunities to address the deterioration which led to Matt’s death.   This 40 minute video is highly recommended viewing.
