Referral threshold change for ENT service at BOPDHB 13 Dec 2021

The BOP DHB has recently changed the threshold for referrals to our ENT service.
We will now be accepting a limited of Grade 3 Referrals, please note Grade 3 was previously a decline.

We will now be accepting a limited number of Grade 3 Referrals, please note Grade 3 was previously a decline.

Grade 1 & 2 will be accepted

Grade 4 & 5 will be declined.

The BOP DHB has differentiated between symptom and condition in the new grading tool.

When sending a referral to the DHB that is a Grade 3 it is respectfully requested that the referrer include as much clinical information as possible to support the referral.
For example when referring for OSA advise if a video of child has been seen by the referrer to support the diagnosis.
