Police Medical Officer Required

Tauranga District Police are looking for a doctor to join their team of Police Medical Officers (PMO).

Tauranga District Police are looking for a doctor to join their team of Police Medical Officers (PMO). The doctors currently operate a one in four roster covering one week on call and then having three weeks off. Cover is provided from 5pm to 8am during the week and all day at the weekend and on public holidays.

The majority of the work is similar to general practice. There is training available for the occasional forensic cases. The police are very supportive, the work is varied and interesting, and the current group of doctors get together for peer review sessions a couple of times per year.

Doctors are paid a retainer for being on-call plus an hourly fee for any patients attended.

For more information please contact any of the existing PMO – Bryce Kihirini - BryceK@ngakakano.org.nz; Denise Anderson - denise.anderson@xtra.co.nz; Joe Bourne – joe.bourne@bopdhb.govt.nz
