Health and Disability Commissioner Anthony Hill today released a report finding two general practitioners (GPs) and a medical centre in breach of the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights (the Code) for failures relating to a consumer’s prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing.

A man regularly attended a medical centre, and over a period of several years had five prostate-specific antigen tests — all of which were recorded as being within the normal range expected for his age at the time of testing.
