Echocardiogram Clinic Overstretched 11 Oct 2017
The cardiology clinic has been unable to keep up with increasing numbers of echocardiogram referrals (both inpatient as well as primary care generated) for some time, and now has a huge wait list for non-urgents, comprising hundreds and hundreds of patients.
The cardiology clinic has been unable to keep up with increasing numbers of echocardiogram referrals (both inpatient as well as primary care generated) for some time, and now has a huge wait list for non-urgents, comprising hundreds and hundreds of patients. Cardiology have had to reluctantly take the step of removing all those GP referrals from the wait list who have been waiting for 12 months or more.
If you have any patients that this applies to, you will be receiving a letter from cardiology soon informing you of them being removed. The patient will also receive a letter.
The cardiology department apologises for this inconvenience.
