PMO's are responsible for looking after prisoners in the cells at Tauranga Central Station between the hours of 5pm - 8am week days and all weekend ( Fri 5pm- Mon 8am). The roster is 1 week on in 4, and we average 1-2 calls / week, and 1-2 calls that just require phone advice or phone scripts (repeats for current medications).

The work is interesting and varied, and is well remunerated.

You are required to attend a conference every 2nd year either in Wellington or Auckland - all transport and accommodation paid for by Police. We have a peer group registered with RNZCGP and we meet 3-4 times/ year - very informal.

A full orientation at the station is provided, and backup is available 24/7 for any queries/ support. Ideally applicants would be vocationally registered in General Practice or Urgent Care, or at least Senior Registrars.
